I was parked near The Oaks Mall Area on a Tuesday when the call came in. A woman had her 2006 SRX in a lot off Thousand Oaks Boulevard and her only key had snapped at the bow - the plastic head broke away from the blade. The blade was still stuck in the door lock.

Cut a new blade to match her vehicle, transferred the transponder chip from the broken key head into the new one, and connected to the OBD port to confirm the security system recognized it.
She turned the key and it fired on the first try.
Her husband called back from the dealer while I was packing up. The quote he got assumed a tow, a full day in the shop, and a wait on parts. She told him it was already handled. He didn't believe her at first.
