Out near Round Mountain Trail in Camarillo, a guy had just picked up a 2009 Dodge Journey at auction. Clean title, solid price, one key. The auction yard told him to sort out a spare on his own.
He called the local Dodge dealer. They quoted him a number that stung, especially after he'd just spent his savings on the truck itself. Told him to bring it in, leave it, and they'd get to it when they could. He wasn't thrilled about that either.

I matched the blank, cut the blade on my Triton, then pulled the vehicle PIN with my programmer and wrote the new FOBIK to the system. No dealer portal needed on these older Chrysler platforms.
Lock, unlock, trunk, panic, and a clean start. All four buttons, both keys, verified on the spot.
He drove home with two working FOBIKs. That matters, because if one ever goes missing now, the next replacement is a simple add-a-key job instead of an all-keys-lost procedure, which takes longer and costs more.
