Out past Wilson Park in Oxnard, a guy running a horse property called me about his 2010 Dodge Journey. His only key was beat. The plastic housing had cracked down one side, the rubber button pad was peeling away from the circuit board, and he had been holding the whole thing together with electrical tape for months. Still started the car, but the lock and unlock buttons were hit or miss depending on how hard he squeezed it.
He called the nearest Dodge dealer first. They told him two-plus weeks before they could get him in, and that was before ordering the part. Pulling the Journey off the property during a work week was not happening.
I drove out and set up at the ranch gate. Pulled the 10-digit PIN from the SKIM module through the OBD port, programmed a fresh 56046639AG remote head key, and cut the blade to match. Then I transferred his original transponder data to verify everything synced clean with the Sentry Key system.
Tested all four buttons from different spots around the vehicle, cycled the ignition twice, confirmed no SKIM error codes on the dash. He wanted a spare too, so I programmed a second one right there.
Two working keys, both tested, done at his gate. He went back to work and the Journey stayed on the property the whole time.
