Over in the College Estates area in Oxnard, a guy with a 2017 Ford Fiesta SE flagged me down on a job I was already heading to. Not my original call. He had snapped his key blade clean inside the ignition cylinder. Half the H75 blade was still jammed in there.
He told me another locksmith quoted him for drilling out the cylinder and replacing the whole thing. New cylinder, new keys, the works. He was not happy about it.
I pulled out my H75 Lishi tool and extracted the broken fragment without touching the wafer surfaces inside the cylinder. No scratches, no damage, no drama. Once the piece was out, I decoded the lock right there by reading each wafer position. That gave me exact cut depths for a fresh blade without needing the original key or a key code lookup.
His setup was the standard PATS transponder with a separate KR55WK48801 remote fob. Cut the new H75 blade from the decode, cloned the 80-bit transponder chip through OBD using the diagnostic port, and paired everything up. The whole job took maybe 40 minutes.
He sat on the curb watching and kept looking at the ignition like I was going to tell him something else was wrong. Nothing was. His original cylinder works with the new key exactly like it did before. No drill, no replacement, a fraction of what the other guy wanted.
