A woman called me from Moorpark Home Acres on a weeknight. She was staying there temporarily for work, driving a 2024 Ford Transit, and her only fob had stopped talking to the van. So I went through the OBD port, registered the fob back into the system, verified the key count, and walked every button. Lock, unlock, and the other two. All working. Started the van, let it idle, shut it off, walked away and came back, made sure the keyless entry was picking up the fob at the door handle the way it's supposed to.
Total time on site was about 35 minutes. She made her morning meeting the next day and didn't have to deal with a tow truck or a dealer waiting room. The dealer comparison barely came up. She just seemed relieved to not be stranded.
