2014 Infiniti Q60 Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Out in La Colonia, I got a call from a woman who managed a small property office off Saviers.
She had her 2014 Q60 parked out front and had been dealing with an annoying problem for about two weeks: the car would sometimes not recognize the fob when she walked up to the driver door, then recognize it fine a minute later. She'd already swapped the battery herself, which was the right instinct. But the behavior kept coming back.
When I got there, she handed me the fob and I popped it open. New CR2032 seated correctly, looked fine. But one of the battery contact clips had a slight outward bow -- barely visible -- from the way the old battery had been pried out. The contact pressure just wasn't there. I reshaped the clip, reseated the battery, and closed it back up.
Then I walked every function. Touch unlock on both door handles. Lock button. The whole sequence. No hesitation, full range across the parking lot.
She asked if she should still get a backup key made since she only had the one. That's the smarter conversation to have before you're down to zero. We talked through it, and she decided to go ahead. I programmed a second fob on site, tested both, and confirmed the car saw them independently.
The dealer had already quoted her a number and a wait time that had her putting it off for weeks. We wrapped it up in under an hour on the street. That's the job.
