She called at 9:45 from the pharmacy lot off Oxnard Boulevard. Her 2016 Infiniti Q60 would not start. Push button did nothing. No dash lights, no crank, no "I-Key Not Detected" message. Just dead silence. She was about to start her overnight shift alone and the lot was already emptying out.
Dealer was closed. A tow would strand her there with no car until sometime the next afternoon. She needed it running now, even if only to move it under a light.
I got to the lot and connected to the OBD port. The BCM had dropped the fob pairing. Her vehicle battery had been on its way out for a while, and a voltage dip during shutdown caused the NATS6 IMMO module to lose registration of the KR5S180144204 fob entirely. The key was fine. The car just forgot it existed.
I stabilized the vehicle battery with a jump pack, then reprogrammed the fob through OBD. All four buttons tested good. Push-button start fired on the first press. Handle touch lock and unlock both responded.
She moved the Q60 to a lit spot near the entrance and went to work. The whole thing took about 40 minutes. The dealer route would have been a tow that night plus a service visit the next day for a lot more. Her fob never failed. A dying 12-volt just made the car lose its memory.
