2017 Infiniti Q60 Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
He was parked at a detail shop in Hobson Park, Oxnard, and his Q60 wasn't going anywhere. Not because it was broken exactly, but because the fob had stopped pairing after a battery disconnect, and the car was treating his key like a stranger.
He'd already called the Infiniti dealer. Thursday was the earliest they could see him. Then leave the car. Then wait. He said it like he was describing a punishment.
He wasn't leaving his Q60 at a dealer for most of a week. He called me instead.
I met him there around midday. The detail shop guys were working around the car while I ran the Intelligent Key learning procedure through the OBD port. The fob itself was fine, the battery was fine, the blade was fine. The pairing had just dropped during the disconnect and never recovered on its own. That's not unusual. The security access sequence on these takes a few minutes of background processing before the system accepts the new registration, and that's built in by design on this platform. Plug in, run the sequence, wait it out, test.
Start to engine-running was about 25 minutes. He drove to a car meet that same afternoon.
The dealer quote was real, and it was steep. I came in at a fraction of that. But honestly, the time was the bigger thing for him. Four days versus same-day, right at the shop where his car already was.
