I was already wrapping up another job near downtown Oxnard when the call came in. A woman in a parking garage at a shopping center off the Mandalay Beach area said her 2022 Q60 fob had gone completely dark. She'd stepped away for less than a minute to return a cart. Her infant was strapped in the back seat. The car was locked. The fob wasn't responding to anything.
She was calm on the phone but I could hear what was underneath it. I told her I was close and I was moving.

Ran every function before I called it done: lock, unlock, the push-button start reading the fob correctly, all five buttons accounted for.
She had mentioned the dealer when she first called, almost as a reflex, before she remembered they were closed and that a tow and a dealer visit the next morning wasn't going to work for her. I didn't bring it up again. It didn't matter.
The baby was asleep in the stroller by the time I finished. She drove home that night.
