Then the part that actually matters: testing. Lock, unlock, panic, hatch. Cycled the ignition three times. Walked the range on the remote from across the lot. Everything clean.
She watched the whole thing from the back of the Quest, sitting on a stack of towels. When the new key started the engine she just nodded, like she was mad at herself for not calling sooner.
Her old taped-up key still works too. Both registered, both tested, done right there at the car wash. The Quest does not care where the programming happens. The NATS5 handshake is identical whether it runs in a service bay or a parking lot.
