Tax season Wednesday in Ventura, Thompson Boulevard district. A call from an accountant at her firm's lot. Her 2010 Nissan Quest remote head key had gone dead. She walked out after her 1pm client, hit the unlock button from the doorway, and just nodded. Car never left its parking spot. No tow, no appointment booked days out, no sitting in a dealer waiting room watching the clock eat her billable hours. A fraction of what the dealer route would have cost her in money and time.
