Saturday night in Ventura, close to Ventura Harbor Village, a group just leaving a Korean BBQ spot called me around 10pm. Their 2013 Nissan Quest was sitting in the lot doing nothing. Push the start button, dash just says "NO KEY DETECTED." Nobody moves.

Dropped in a fresh CR2032 and the proximity detection came back, doors responded from a few feet away, and the push-to-start fired on the first press. Then I walked all six buttons: lock, unlock, hatch, both sliders, and panic. All good.
One guy in the group kept saying they figured the car was stuck until Monday, that they would have to call the dealer and wait for a tow. Instead they drove home that same night.
