An interior designer sitting on a wine bar patio near Strathearn Historical Park in Simi Valley had been driving her 2002 Audi A8 on a single flip key for over a year. Bought the car used, one key in the deal, and she kept telling herself she would get around to a spare.

Cut the 4D0837231P flip key blank, seated the ID48 transponder chip, and programmed it through the OBD-II port using the PIN from the instrument cluster module. Remote functions came alive on the first sync, all four buttons including the trunk release. Total time, about 35 minutes.
She watched the whole thing from two tables over, half paying attention between a glass of wine and her phone. When I handed her the second key, she just turned it over a couple times like she was surprised it was actually done.
No tow. No appointment. No dropping the car off for a day. Just a spare key she had been putting off, handled while she finished dinner.
