I was already in the South Bank area of Oxnard on a Sunday morning when I got the call. A flight attendant had been stuck at a nearby brunch spot for a couple of hours. She was on a layover, not local, and she had already been through it once before I got there.

When it finished, all four buttons on her fob worked clean, and the car started and stayed running. No two-second cutoff, no warning lights, just a car that worked.
She had already paid someone else for this job. Getting it right the second time, at less than she was quoted at the dealer, was the least I could do.
