Out in Corriganville, the part of Simi Valley where the old movie ranch used to be, I got a call from a rideshare driver pulled over on the shoulder. He had been running a worn flip key for a while, and when he tried to unlock his door that morning, the blade snapped clean inside the lock cylinder. Not bent, not jammed. He drove off the shoulder under his own power. The cylinder looked exactly the way it did before I got there.
