Yes. On the D4 A8, the emergency blade stored inside the smart fob is what you use for the door lock cylinder when the fob battery is dead or the car's sensors are not responding. If that blade snaps off inside the lock, extraction without damaging the cylinder is absolutely doable. I use the right picks for the job rather than digging at it and making things worse.
