I was parked on a side street off Harbor Boulevard doing paperwork when the call came in from Pacific View. A woman had walked out to her 2006 BMW X5 after a morning errand, hit the lock button out of habit, and the fob just sat there. Nothing. She tried again standing right next to the door. Then I did what I always do on these, I ran a quick diagnostic check anyway just to make sure the immobilizer and body electronics were quiet and we weren't sitting on a stored fault that was about to wake up. Everything looked good. No codes, no pending issues.
