Out in the Fremont North neighborhood in Oxnard, a guy flagged me down to his 2005 Buick LeSabre in a driveway. Half a key blade was in his hand and the other half was jammed in the ignition cylinder. Classic Z-keyway failure. The old B111 blanks get thin at the shoulder after years of wiggling, and they just snap.
He looked tired. Said he'd been sitting there for a while trying to fish it out with needle-nose pliers and a flashlight, and all he did was push the broken piece deeper.
I got the broken bit out with my Lishi B111 pick without pulling the cylinder or messing up the wafers. Decoded the lock right there, got all ten cuts. Then I grabbed a fresh B111 blank, cut it on my mobile machine, and dropped in a pre-cloned PK3 Megamos ID 13 chip using my VVDI Key Tool.
