2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo MECHANICAL-KEY Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

A guy near Rustic Canyon Golf Course in Moorpark called me after he locked his only key inside the trunk of his 2004 Monte Carlo. He had been loading golf clubs, set the key on top of his bag, and shut the trunk lid without thinking. Said he stood there for a solid minute just staring at the trunk latch.

He had already called the dealer. They told him they could cut a new key from the VIN but he would need to get the car to their service bay first. Which meant a tow. For a key that has zero electronics in it. He was not thrilled.

I got there in about 25 minutes. Used my B106 Lishi to decode the door lock, reading all ten wafer positions right off the cylinder. That gives me an exact cut, not a guess. Cut the key on my HPC machine in the van, tested it in the door, then the ignition.

Here is the part people do not expect with these: the passlock system needs to see the new key turn and the Hall effect sensor in the cylinder has to read correctly. His fired right up, no security light, no ten-minute relearn. Clean start.

He popped the trunk, grabbed his original key off the golf bag, and now he had two. Whole thing took maybe 20 minutes on site. A fraction of what the dealer route would have cost him, and he never left the parking lot.
