Over in Campus Canyon Park in Moorpark, a trade school student called me about his 2009 Dodge Challenger. He was at his girlfriend's place and already deep into a bad situation. Another locksmith had tried to program a FOBIK to the car, failed halfway through, and left the Wireless Ignition Node in a confused state. Then charged him for "the attempt" and told him to call the dealer.
The Challenger wouldn't recognize any key after that. Dead in the driveway.

I plugged my IM608 into the OBD port and saw the mess right away. A stack of U-codes in the WIN module from the incomplete learn sequence, including a U0168 lost communication fault. The previous guy had forced a procedure that didn't match the 2009 FOBIK protocol. Older LX platform cars like this use a different PIN seed routine than the later RF Hub models, and if you run the wrong one, the module locks up.
I cleared the codes, verified the WIN was back to baseline, and ran a clean Dodge key learning sequence from scratch. His IYZ-C01C registered on the first pass. I turned the screen so he could see the "Key Learned" confirmation himself.
The Challenger started clean. No warning lights, no "No Fob Detected" on the EVIC. I didn't charge extra for the cleanup because fixing the mess is just part of doing the job right. Way less than the dealer was quoting to sort out what the other locksmith broke.
