I got a call from a guy in Sunset Hills, Thousand Oaks, on a Tuesday morning. He was standing next to his 2024 F-350 in his own driveway, door wouldn't respond to the handle, and the truck was giving him a key-not-detected warning on the dash. He'd had the fob for about eight months.

He'd been mentally budgeting for a new fob and a dealer visit. Turned out to be a battery. He laughed a little when I showed him the voltage difference on the meter between the old cell and the new one. Not dramatic, but enough to matter.
That's the job sometimes. Drive out to Sunset Hills, spend fifteen minutes, leave the truck working the way it should. The dealer story never came up because it never needed to.
