A college senior near Fillmore Historical Museum called me from his apartment carport. He had dropped his only CR-V key on concrete and the transponder housing cracked clean through. He could see a little glass capsule sitting loose inside the plastic, which was the T5 chip.

Cut a fresh HD103 blank, cloned the T5 transponder through the OBD port using Honda's immobilizer protocol, and had him turning the engine over in about 40 minutes. I showed him the cracked housing on his old key so he would know what failed and why. He just looked at it and said he thought the whole ignition was broken.
He saved a good chunk versus the dealer route and never left his parking spot.
