2022 Honda CR-V Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A man in the South Surfside area of Port Hueneme called one morning about his 2022 CR-V. He was older, used a cane, and lived at an independent living complex. His daughter usually drove him when something like this came up, but she was out of town. He had one key. The remote had been getting unreliable and he wanted a spare made before the whole thing failed on him.
Getting to a dealer wasn't really on the table. The nearest Honda dealer is a solid drive from Port Hueneme, and between arranging a ride, sitting in a service waiting area, and hoping they had everything in stock that day, the whole thing was a half-day ordeal he couldn't easily manage alone.
I pulled into his complex that morning with the fob blank and programming gear already on the truck. We did the job right in the parking lot. New fob registered to the car, tested every button, walked both door handles for touch unlock, confirmed the push-button start recognized both keys. While he watched, I showed him how to check the CR2032 so he'd have a heads-up before the battery got low again rather than finding out at a bad moment.
He didn't have to leave the building. He didn't have to call his daughter back from her trip. He had a working spare key in his hand before lunch. The dealer had quoted him considerably more for a single key than what he paid me for two.
