2007 Honda CR-V
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in Ventura County

2007 Honda CR-V Remote Head Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

Got a call from a guy over in East Santa Paula, near the older residential streets off Telegraph Road. He had a 2007 Honda CR-V and one key to his name. He wanted a spare before he ended up in a bad situation. His wife had been telling him to get one made for a year.

He had already called the dealer. They told him he would need to come in, buy the part through their parts department, and book a service appointment on top of that. He did not have a second key to drive it in with, so the whole thing felt like a setup. That was the part that stuck with him. He needed a working key just to get the dealer to help him cut a new one.

I pulled up to his driveway with the blank already matched to his VIN. The 2007 CR-V takes a specific remote head key, and I had it. Cut the blade right there on the hood, opened up the programmer, ran the immobilizer registration to add the new key to the car's memory alongside his original, and tested the remote functions. Lock, unlock, and the third button, all confirmed working. About 30 minutes start to finish.

He asked what would have happened if he had lost his last key before calling me. I told him all-keys-lost on this car is still a one-visit job. Comes with a longer sequence on the programmer, but it happens right in the driveway. The dealer quote was well north of what he paid me. He went inside and told his wife she had been right.
