Near Topa Topa Brewing Company in Oxnard, an older gentleman called about his 2015 CR-V. He used a cane, lived at an independent complex nearby, and the idea of getting to a Honda dealer was not just inconvenient, it was a real obstacle. I used my Lishi HO66 to decode the door lock, cut a fresh blade on site, then programmed the ID47 transponder through the OBD port. His remote, the ACJ932HK1210A, paired up right after. Took about 30 minutes total.
Before I packed up I showed him the battery door on the back of the fob. Slide, pop, swap the CR2032. He practiced it once right there so he would know the feel of it. Small thing, but it meant he would not have to call anyone the next time range started dropping.
He never had to leave his building or wait on his daughter. The dealer would have quoted him a longer wait, a higher price, and the problem of actually getting there. He just needed someone to show up where the car was.
