2006 Hyundai Sonata Remote Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Over in Oxnard, near Topa Topa Brewing Company, a woman flagged me down from her driveway about her 2006 Sonata. The remote shell was split along the seam, held together with a strip of electrical tape. The rubber button pad was so worn you could barely feel where Lock ended and Unlock started. And the flip blade wobbled when she pushed it out, the pivot ear on one side completely snapped off.
She had already called the dealer. They quoted her for a full replacement fob, programmed, new blade cut, the works. Nobody mentioned that the PCB inside, the one with the FCC ID OSLOKA-310T stamped on it, was perfectly fine. The 315 MHz signal was strong, the ID46 chip responded clean on my reader, and all four buttons still fired when I pressed the pad contacts directly.
I popped the old board and chip out of the cracked housing, dropped them into a fresh shell with a new button pad. Cut a replacement HY18 blade on my machine using the existing key as a reference, verified the cuts with a Lishi HY18 decode, and snapped it into the new housing.
She stood there flexing the new flip open and closed like a lighter. Whole thing took about fifteen minutes. The electronics she already owned did all the work. She just needed a body that wasn't falling apart.
