Guy near Leadbetter Beach in Santa Barbara called me after a rough evening. He walked out of a restaurant and his jacket was gone from the coat check. Keys, wallet, phone, all of it. He borrowed the hostess's phone, called the police, then his wife, then me.
His 2003 Infiniti M45 was sitting in the valet lot with zero keys. His wife called the Infiniti dealer the next morning. They quoted her an order for the key blank, said three to five business days before it arrived, plus a tow, plus rekeying the doors since whoever had the stolen key could still walk up and open the car. The combined wait and cost made her call me back.
I got there that night. All-keys-lost on a stolen-key situation is not the same as cutting a spare. I have to wipe the NATS V immobilizer memory so the old key is dead to the car even if the thief tries it. I used my IM608 to pull the 4-digit PIN from the NATS ECU, erased the stored key data, then programmed two fresh ID46 transponder keys from scratch. Decoded the lock cylinder with my Lishi NSN14, cut both blades on site.
He drove home that night. Two working keys, stolen key completely erased from the system. No tow, no waiting on a parts order, and a fraction of what the dealer quoted his wife.
