It was a Saturday night in Lynn Ranch, and a couple had come out of dinner to find their 2013 Kia Sorento sitting completely dark and unresponsive. The fob wouldn't trigger the doors. The start button just sat there ignoring them.

Pulled up, popped the fob open on the hood. The CR2032 was reading almost nothing on the meter. Fresh cell, reseated the contacts, closed it back up. Walked them through the backup start just so they'd know it for next time. Car started on the first press, door handles woke right back up.
Tested every button, confirmed touch unlock on both front handles, verified the start button reading at normal carry distance. The whole call was maybe twenty minutes.
They were back on the road that same night. The dealer would have been a Monday appointment minimum. When the right parts are already in the van, a Saturday at 9pm runs exactly like a Tuesday morning.
