2025 Kia Sorento Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

I got a call from a guy parked in a lot off The Avenue in Ventura. He was frustrated before I even pulled up. Another locksmith had already been out, charged him for a full key replacement on his 2025 Sorento, and left him with a car that would crank and immediately die. The other guy told him the problem was a bad module and walked away.

It wasn't a module problem.

What happened was the immobilizer registration sequence never finished properly. The key data got written temporarily but didn't commit to permanent memory. The car would accept it just long enough to turn over, then the security system did its job and shut everything down. Two seconds of hope, every time.

I connected through the OBD port with my scan tool, cleared out the incomplete key data, and ran a clean registration sequence with the correct PIN and the proper learning flow. Each step confirmed before moving to the next. When the new fob registered, I walked every button, checked the start, and showed him the confirmation on the tool screen so he could see it himself.

He'd already paid once for a job that didn't finish. What he paid me was still a fraction of what the dealer quoted him. I didn't bring that up. He did.
