A travel nurse on a 13-week contract in Thousand Oaks, out near Newbury Park area, called me on a Monday. She had one working smart key for her 2018 Kia Sorento and needed a spare before her luck ran out. She had already called the dealer.

Programmed the ID47 transponder, cut the emergency insert blade on site using the HY20 keyway, and tested every function: lock, unlock, hatch, panic, passive entry on both front handles, and push-button start.
The whole thing took about 25 minutes.
She stood there holding both keys like she was comparing them, making sure the new one felt real. Then she just nodded and said she could drive herself to work Tuesday morning. Monday call, Monday fix, and she kept her week intact for a fraction of what the dealer route would have cost with the tow and the wait.
