It was a Saturday night in Downtown Ventura. A couple came out of a sushi spot and their 2020 Sorento wouldn't respond. Fob did nothing. Push-to-start sat there dark.

I swapped it on the hood of the car, walked them through the hold-to-button trick so they'd know it for next time, then ran a quick check to confirm the fob was registering correctly and all four buttons were reading clean.
First press after the battery swap, the car started right up.
