2007 Mitsubishi Lancer Remote Head Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Over near the Fillmore Towne Theatre, a woman was standing next to her 2007 Lancer holding two pieces of what used to be one key. The remote head shell had cracked along the hinge months ago, she said, and she had been nursing it. That day the MIT11 blade snapped off inside the driver door lock when she turned it at a bad angle.
One key. Now zero.
I pulled the broken blade out of the cylinder with an extractor, then opened up what was left of the OUCG8D-625M-A housing on her hood. The ID46 transponder chip was still seated and undamaged. That meant I could skip the full all-keys-lost reset on her ETACS module and just move the chip into a fresh shell.
I decoded the door lock wafers, cut two new MIT11 blades on my mobile unit, and transplanted the chip into a new OEM-spec remote head housing. Programmed the remote buttons through the ETACS, tested all four: lock, unlock, trunk, panic. Then I handed her the second key as a spare, cut to code, with its own fresh shell and a new CR1620.
She went from stuck in a parking lot to two working keys in about 35 minutes. The whole time she kept looking at the tiny chip on the hood like she could not believe that little glass capsule was the thing that let her car start.
