2015 Mitsubishi Lancer Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A renter at a garden apartment near Ellwood Mesa Open Space in Goleta called me after his dealer quote for a replacement smart key on his 2015 Lancer. He had one working key left and the case was cracking along the hinge, the kind of split where the blade half wobbles every time you pull it from your pocket. I parked at his building and got to work. Used my MIT11 Lishi to decode the door lock, reading all 8 cut positions off the wafers directly rather than relying on his cracked original. Cut an exact blade on site.
His smart key runs FCC ID OUC644M-KEY-N with an ID46 transponder chip inside. Programming goes through the OBD port, talking to the ETACS module to register the new key and sync the remote functions: lock, unlock, trunk, panic. The whole process, decode to final test, ran about 30 minutes.
The part he kept coming back to was that he never left the building. No tow, no ride to a dealer, no dropping the car off for half a day. He just stood there watching from his doorway while I cut and programmed next to his Lancer.
He saved a good chunk versus the dealer and had a solid spare before the old one fell apart completely.
