A guy out there had both of his 2011 Outlander fobs go flaky within the same week. Not lost, not broken, just dead. He figured one bad battery was bad luck. Two was something else. He found me and dropped his pin.

We sorted the enrolled fob with a fresh battery seated correctly. Then I registered the second fob through the diagnostic port so he had a real working spare.

He asked what the dealer would have quoted. I told him to think about the tow to a Ventura dealer, the appointment wait, and the labor rate for a job that takes about fifteen minutes with the right tool. He said he'd already been down that road with a different car once. That was enough for him.
