2010 Nissan Titan Remote Head Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Out in Casitas Springs, early on a weekday, a guy called me about a snapped key in his 2010 Titan. He was in a gravel lot, half the blade stuck in the ignition cylinder, the other half in his hand. The truck was still running because he had managed to leave it on rather than risk jamming things further. Smart call.
I drove out with my extraction tools and a Lishi pick suited to that ignition. The broken piece came out clean without disturbing the wafers inside the cylinder. Once the lock was clear, I decoded it right there and used those readings to cut a fresh blade on my portable machine.
The 2010 Titan is a remote head key setup, so the fob portion was still in one piece and fully functional. I only needed to address the new blade and get the transponder registered with the immobilizer. One cycle through the programming procedure and the truck recognized it without hesitation.
He was back in the driver seat in under an hour from when he first called. He mentioned the dealer had told him on a previous key issue that they needed the truck towed in and a few days to source parts. He said that just for a key. I didn't charge him what a dealer would have, not even close, and he didn't lose a day of work.
Snapped key at a remote lot sounds like a bad morning. On a 2010 Titan, it's one of the cleaner jobs I do.
