I got a call from a guy in Midtown Ventura who drives a 2023 Titan for night work. He had a key made by someone else a couple weeks before, and it was starting to get weird. Mornings it worked fine. I ran a read through my diagnostic equipment. The registration looked solid. It was the battery contact the whole time.
Tested lock, unlock, and the remaining button functions. Walked around the truck. Everything came back clean.
He had already been quoted a full key replacement by the dealer, which would have meant a tow since he only had the one fob. He did not need any of that. Just a correct battery seating and someone who checked the whole system instead of assuming.
