2011 Nissan Titan REMOTE-HEAD-KEY Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Over in Cemetery Memorial Park in Ventura, I got a call forwarded from a smog shop. A 2011 Titan was sitting in their lot, dead in the water. Another locksmith had attempted an all-keys-lost job on it, the truck's battery sagged mid-programming, and the NATS immobilizer threw a fault and locked up. The other tech packed his stuff and left.
The smog shop guys said the owner looked like he wanted to sit on the curb and not get up.
I showed up with my IM608 and my ACDP as backup in case I needed to pull data off the BCM directly. First thing I did was clamp my jump pack onto the battery terminals. Power stability during a NATS handshake is non-negotiable. The voltage drop is what killed the first attempt and pushed the BCM into a locked state.
With steady voltage, I cleared the stored fault codes through OBD, then ran a clean key registration from scratch. His CWTWB1U751 remote head key, 3-button with the ID46 chip, learned on the first pass. I cycled the ignition, tested remote lock, unlock, panic, and started the engine twice to make sure the immobilizer handshake was solid.
Took about an hour and a half, which is longer than a normal Titan key job. The alternative was a flatbed ride to the dealer, a week or more wait, and a bill that would have stung a lot harder. I carry backup power and backup tools for exactly this kind of mess.
