2001 Porsche 911 Remote Flip Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A Euro performance shop near Apricot Lane Farms in Moorpark called me in on a 2001 911 that was completely dead to every key. Another locksmith had attempted an all-keys-lost procedure, tried to bench-read the KESSY module, and something went wrong mid-process. Power interruption, wrong adapter pins, no backup of the EEPROM data beforehand. The module locked up. The car wouldn't recognize any fob or blade. The shop was about to tow it to the Porsche dealer an hour away.
I brought my ACDP Mini with the Porsche adapter set for the bench recovery. Pulled the KESSY module, identified the board, and soldered directly to the EEPROM test points to read the security data off the chip. That part is slow and careful work. You don't get a second chance if the trace lifts.
Got a clean read, generated a fresh key file for the ID48 transponder, wrote it to a new flip key shell with the KR55WK45022 remote, cut the blade to code, and reinstalled the module. Cleared the stored faults through OBD, then tested remote lock, unlock, trunk release, ignition start, and a full drive cycle.
Two and a half hours, which is long for me. But the alternative was the dealer quoting weeks of wait time and a bill that made the shop owner go quiet on the phone. I showed the techs what went wrong so they'd recognize it if another locksmith ever put them in the same spot.
