2002 Porsche 911 Remote Flip Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Got a call at 6:30 in the morning from a charter pilot near Campus Canyon Park in Moorpark. He was at a private airport lot, had a flight to prep, and his 2002 Porsche 911 would not unlock or start. The remote flip key was completely dead. Dealer was not open for another two hours, and he could not miss his preflight check.
I was there in about 25 minutes. Picked the HU66 driver door lock with my Lishi tool and got inside the cabin. Once in, I pulled the fob apart and found the battery was toast. Swapped it, but the remote still would not talk to the car.
This happens on 996-generation 911s. When the car battery gets replaced or goes flat, the rolling code between the KR55WK45022 fob and the immobilizer module in the instrument cluster can fall out of sync. The key's ID48 transponder was fine for the immobilizer side, but the remote functions were gone.
I connected through the OBD port on the K-line, re-synced the remote to the car, and tested lock, unlock, and trunk release. Then confirmed the transponder was still accepted for engine start. Cranked clean, no issues.
He was walking into the hangar by 7:15. No tow, no dealer wait, no missed charter flight. Just the right fix done on site for a fraction of what that whole circus would have cost him.
