2007 Porsche 911 Remote Flip Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I got a call from an independent Porsche shop over in Moorpark, the Mountain Meadows side of town. They had a 2007 911 up on the lift, suspension apart, customer coming back in three hours. One key in the building. That key found the gap between a toolbox and the floor drain and was gone.
The shop owner was calm about it on the phone, which usually means they have already run through the options and none of them were good. Dealer would have taken days and cost more than the suspension job. I told him I could be there within the hour.
When I got there the car was still in the air. Did not matter. The 997 lets you read what you need through the OBD port without the car needing to be running or on the ground, which is exactly the situation I needed. I pulled the immobilizer data, generated a replacement chip, got it enrolled, cut the blade to match, and had the flip key assembled and starting the engine before the suspension was back together.
The customer showed up on time. Picked up his car with a fresh key, never knew anything had gone sideways. The shop called it a win. They paid a fraction of what the dealer would have charged and did not lose the customer over a missing key.
That is the job. Nobody panics, the car leaves on time.
