2006 Porsche 911 Remote Flip Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
The charity gala started in three hours and she was standing at the entrance of a Moorpark country club with a dead 2006 Porsche 911 and a trunk full of auction items.
She was the event coordinator. Black tie. Donors already on their way. The Porsche dealer was closed for the day. She called me next, and I was about 20 minutes out from Peach Hill.
I got there, got the trunk open so the auction items weren't baking in the afternoon heat, and then started the actual diagnosis. The remote flip key was the issue. Not the battery, not the car's side. The key itself had taken a hard drop at some point, probably on a hard floor, and a solder joint on the internal board had failed. The remote was dead and the car wouldn't recognize it.
The fix was moving the working chip over to a fresh key blank and programming through the OBD port. Then I tested every function before I even mentioned that we were done.
From her first call to the engine running was 48 minutes. She made the gala. She greeted the donors. She ran the auction. The dealer, if they'd been open, would have had her waiting days and paying a lot more. Nobody at that event knew there had ever been a problem.
