2018 Porsche 911 Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A South Winds resident called me about a 2018 Porsche 911. He'd lost his only key somewhere between the car and his front door, and his first instinct was to call the dealer. They told him to have it towed in, and the wait for their locksmith coordinator alone was going to cost him a day.
He found me instead and asked if I could actually do anything without the dealer involved. I told him to meet me at the car.
I pulled up, looked at the lock, and got to work decoding the cylinder with the right tool for that keyway. Once I had the cut, I trimmed the blade on site. The whole thing took less time than the drive to the dealership would have.
He stood there looking at the finished key for a second, like he was waiting for some other step. There wasn't one. Key goes in, car starts, done. He'd already mentally prepared for a tow and a multi-day wait. The reality was a mobile tech in his driveway and a replacement key cut to his car, right there.
The dealer question came up, as it always does. He'd gotten a number from them over the phone that made him wince. What he paid me was a fraction of that, and he didn't lose his car for a day.
