2016 Porsche 911 Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I got a call from a guy standing in the lobby of his building in Via Marina, Oxnard. He was already burned.
He'd tried one of those low-bid locksmiths off a Google ad, the kind with a generic name and no real address. That guy showed up, collected his money, and handed over a fob that physically fit the ignition switch area but never once communicated with the car. Key-not-detected every single time. The fob was an unprogrammed shell. Looked right, did nothing.
He found me through Google Guaranteed and his first question wasn't about price. It was how to tell if a locksmith was legitimate. Fair question, especially after what just happened.
I gave him my BSIS license number right there on the phone. He pulled up the state database while we were still talking and confirmed it. That conversation took about two minutes and it set the tone for everything after.
When I got to Via Marina, I had the right fob and the right equipment. Porsche's encrypted registration is not a quick write-and-go. The software runs through a full sequence, timed, verified, and confirmed. When it was done, all five buttons responded clean and the car recognized the key without hesitation.
He asked what the dealer would have charged. I told him it would have been a lot more, and that he'd have waited days for an appointment on top of it. He was back inside his building in under an hour. That was the whole story.
