I got a call from a woman in the Marina West area of Oxnard on a weeknight, sometime around eight in the evening. She was in a hospital parking lot. Her kid had just been discharged and she had a tired, worn-out child in her arms and a 2004 RAV4 that wouldn't respond to the fob at all. She pressed the button. Nothing. I got the door open the right way, swapped the fob, synced it to the car, and tested every button before I put my tools away.
From her call to the engine running was about 45 minutes. The dealer wasn't an option that night anyway, and even if they had been open, she would have been waiting until morning and paying considerably more.
She got her kid home. Got the medicine sorted. That's the whole job right there.
