Got a call from a driver near the Ventura Promenade. Amazon delivery guy, 2006 Charger loaded with packages, one key to his name. The Fobik housing had been cracking for months and he'd been ignoring it. That day the blade snapped clean off when he forced it into the ignition. Fob half in one hand, blade fragment jammed in the cylinder. Zero working keys.
He was sitting on the curb scrolling through dealer quotes when he called me.
I pulled the blade fragment out of the ignition first, then opened up his cracked OHT692427AA shell on the hood. The 4D transponder chip inside was still intact, just sitting in a housing that had given up. I used my VVDI2 to read the transponder data straight from the broken fob, which meant I could skip the full all-keys-lost procedure and the SKIM PIN extraction that goes with it.
Decoded the lock, cut two fresh Y164-PT blanks, and rebuilt both into new shells with the cloned chip data. Tested each one: transponder handshake with the SKIM, all four buttons, lock, unlock, trunk, panic. Both keys started the car clean, no SKIM light on the dash.
Forty minutes, curb to curb. He went from zero keys to two, kept his delivery route alive, and spent a fraction of what the dealer quoted him. The chip inside a cracked Fobik is almost always still readable. If you have the broken pieces, bring them.
