Over in the Casa Conejo neighborhood in Thousand Oaks, a guy had just picked up a 2015 Charger from an auction lot. Clean title, good price, one Fobik in the bag. The auction told him to sort out a spare on his own.

The immobilizer accepted it without any dealer involvement.
He stood there clicking both fobs back and forth, lock, unlock, trunk, remote start, like he was testing whether I'd missed something. All five buttons on both keys, identical behavior.
The part he didn't think about until I mentioned it: having that second key means if one ever disappears, the next replacement is a simple add-a-key job instead of an all-keys-lost situation, which is a completely different process and a completely different price.
