A guy in Rancho Conejo called me on a Saturday afternoon. He had just come back from riding at a trail outside Thousand Oaks, unloaded his quad from the truck, and somewhere between the trail and the parking lot his Charger key had vanished. Checked every pocket, checked the truck bed, checked the dirt around the tires. Gone.

No drilling, no disassembly. That gave me the cut depths I needed. I cut a replacement blade on site, built out the fob with the correct blank, and then handled the gateway access before going into the programming sequence through OBD. All-keys-lost on this platform has a timed step in it, so there is a point where you just wait and let the system do what it needs to do. He stood there watching the progress bar like it was going to disappear.
It did not disappear. New key started the car, all five buttons tested out, lock and unlock worked from across the lot. Original cylinder, original ignition, nothing replaced that did not need to be replaced.
He said the other locksmith's quote alone would have covered a car payment. I left it at that.
