A sound engineer in the Erbes Road neighborhood in Thousand Oaks had a 2019 Dodge Charger with push-to-start and zero keys. He was loading gear after an evening gig and his only fob was just gone. Two crew members told him smart key all-keys-lost on a Dodge was dealer-only.

Push-to-start AKL on these seventh-gen Chargers is a different animal than the older Fobik jobs. The RF Hub module and the WIN (Wireless Ignition Node) both hold key data, and everything needs to be wiped clean before new fobs will register. I connected my ACDP to pull immobilizer data as a backup, then ran the AKL procedure through the OBD port with my IM608. His replacement smart key, FCC ID M3M-40821302 with the 68155687 part number, went through registration and the EVIC confirmed it right away.
The part that took the longest was walking every function afterward. Passive entry on all four doors, trunk release, remote start, push-button ignition, and making sure the "KEY FOB NOT DETECTED" message stayed gone. He stood there watching the dash the whole time, like he was waiting for bad news.
His Charger started in that lot. A dealer would have meant a flatbed tow and days without the car. He saved a good chunk and drove home that night.
