Over at Marine Emporium Landing in Oxnard, a home care worker had her morning fall apart before it started. Her 2005 Dodge Dakota sat in the carport, and the only key she owned was completely dead. The KOBDT04A remote head key went in, ignition cycled, and the Sentry Key light did exactly what you want it to do: flashed briefly and went off.
Then the boring part. Tested every button on the remote: lock, unlock, panic, trunk. Walked around the truck and hit lock-unlock range from 30 feet out. Started it twice more to make sure the transponder handshake held clean.
She watched the engine turn over on that first press and just stood there for a second, like she was waiting for it to stall. It did not.
