Out near Janss Marketplace in Thousand Oaks, a bass fisherman lost his only key to his 2011 Dodge Dakota somewhere between a boat dock and a dirt parking lot early one morning. Checked the tackle box, checked the boat, checked every pocket twice. Nothing.

His KOBDT04A remote head key was cut on site, programmed, and the remote paired for lock, unlock, panic, and hatch.
Cut him a spare too. He stood there holding both keys like he was trying to decide which pocket was safest.
From lock decode to engine running took about 45 minutes. He drove away from the same dirt lot where he thought the truck was stuck until Monday. The dealer route would have been a tow, a weekday appointment, and a much bigger number. He skipped all of it.
